The nose displays pungent black current, cassis and stewed blackberry notes with clove, licorice spice and toasted tobacco leaf. The palate opens with nuances of ripe black cherry and dark chocolate, followed by tight, grippy tannins and a long finish. This wine will age beautifully for 6-8 years. If drinking now, decant for 2 hours prior to serving or pair with rich, rare game meats.
